KENYATAAN MEDIA

Investigation Into Death of Selangor Exco's Political Secretary Must Be Thorough and Transparent

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (KEADILAN) is shocked and grieved by the news that Teoh Beng Hock, the political secretary of Seri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah, who was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday for investigations was found dead at the MACC headquarters this afternoon.

In light of the fact that he fell to his death today, from the office of the MACC, after the conclusion of his interrogation by them at 3:45 am this morning, KEADILAN demands that a thorough investigation be conducted immediately by the police and the MACC. Further, the results of the investigation must be transparent and be acted upon to ensure swift justice in this matter, especially when he died under highly suspicious circumstances.

I also extend our deepest condolences on behalf of KEADILAN to the family and loved ones of Teoh Beng Hock, who died under such tragic circumstances. We also offer our assistance in any way possible in their time of grief.

Lastly, we hope that the authorities, the media and all concerned will respect and support the family in this dark period, which no doubt must be extremely painful and stressful for them.
